Patricia Marie Perea, Ph.D. is a professor, educator, writer and ethnic studies researcher. She is the co-author of The Pueblo Food Experience: Whole Food of Our Ancestors (Museum of New Mexico Press, 2016). Her poetry and non-fiction writing has been published online and injournals such as Aztlán: a Journal of Chicana/o Studies (2016); As/Us (2014); La Tolteca Zine (2015); El Palacio (2022); the New Mexico Poetry Anthology (2023); Chamisa: A Journal of Literary, Performance and Visual Arts of New Mexico and the Greater Southwest (2025) and Hearts On Our Sleeves: Literary Lioness (2025). In October 2020, New Mexico Poet Laureate Levi Romero featured her poetry in his weekly contribution to Miriam’s Well: Poetry, Land Art, And Beyond. She has been a featured speaker and contributor to media networks such as PBS Colores, NBC News, KOAT, KUNM, and KRQE.
