When I was in first grade, I got an award for having read over 100 books that summer. I don’t remember if I got a personal pan pizza. Chances are probably not because I don’t think we had a Pizza Hut in Canyon, but I do remember getting a little package of metallic gold star stickers. Those stars became treasures to be allocated carefully.
